Artist's Description

These old trees at the top of a rise in the land appear to be standing sentinel over the luminaries below. This is in an area near the North woods. Each year in early December, 23,110 candles are lit ... one for each casualty of the battle at Antietam near Sharpsburg Maryland. It was the single bloodiest day of the Civil War.

About Judi Quelland

Judi Quelland

I was a professional photographer for more than 35 years. While my vocation included wedding and portrait photography and the restoration of very old (and not so old) images, my avocation goes toward the more creative. These include floral and landscape photography (hopefully with a different perspective), some special events that lend to creative images, and a few things that start as photographs but end as digital art creations. Stay tuned . . . for additional new work!
