Artist's Description

A lone luminary sits outside a fence surrounding a field near the Hagerstown Pike. Each year 23,110 candles are lit ... one for each casualty of the battle at Antietam on September 17, 1862. It was the single bloodiest day of the Civil War.

About Judi Quelland

Judi Quelland

I was a professional photographer for more than 35 years. While my vocation included wedding and portrait photography and the restoration of very old (and not so old) images, my avocation goes toward the more creative. These include floral and landscape photography (hopefully with a different perspective), some special events that lend to creative images, and a few things that start as photographs but end as digital art creations. Stay tuned . . . for additional new work!
