Artist's Description

The historic Miller Farmhouse sits between the cornfield and the North Woods on the Antietam National Battlefield. . Each year in early December, 23,110 candles are lit ... one for each casualty of the battle at Antietam near Sharpsburg Maryland. It was the single bloodiest day of the Civil War.
